Janet--I'm reading your book right now--love the opening scene. I can't wait to read the whole thing.
Rebecca, I'm glad to hear that, as I'm realizing that my "style" is not to open my stories with a bang. But if I write well enough for the reader to hang in there with me, I hope I can create a sense of place and character and still move the story forward.
